Not a pandemic has slowed down the will to comply of the Malaga-born Eduardo Balboa, a 31-year-old National Police, who visited children with cancer this Friday who are confined in the Materno Infantil Hospital (Malaga, Spain), in what has been a meeting of heights.

Eight years he has been disguising himself as a superhero to visit the oncology plants of Andalusian hospitals. Until now, he had always been a face to face with the little ones. Within the Materno Infantil Hospital, the fourth floor is the one corresponding to oncology. The children, who cannot receive visitors from outside, have stood at the windows and greeted Spiderman from the inside. Outside, several parents and other children have also gathered who have watched the descent from outside. Among them, José Jaimez, a neighbor of Marbella, who has his four-year-old son Aitor admitted. By video call, he received the emotion of his son and then he wanted to thank him for this action. “My son has been very motivated and I, as a father, have been moved,” acknowledged this young father.
The action this Friday has required several months of training. Balboa, who has recognized that he had no previous experience in the world of climbing, has been training for it for some time at the Marbella Fire Station. Gabriel Moya is stationed there, who has taught him abseiling. It is a vertical surface descent system in which several ropes are used. Gabriel himself has been in charge of ensuring Balboa’s descent.
«This is my way of giving joy to these children who are having a bad time. They are living a double confinement ”, he commented. Balboa, once he is back on solid ground. This man from Malaga, despite not being a father, has always felt the need to make children happy. “Since I was little, I saw children with cancer in hospitals and I have felt a great concern for them.”
Why Spiderman? «He is my favorite superhero and because of my physique he is the best fit. It doesn’t hurt me to be the Hulk », joked the tall agent of the National Police. This action has also had the support of the Andrés Olivares Foundation, which works to make life easier for children suffering from cancer.
