Create an empty space – When I studied Psychology, it was clear to me that I would specialize in clinical practice, but at the same time everything done with Coaching was a subject that I was passionate about. So, parallel to my specialty, I have never stopped training. We all need a coach at some point in our lives to help us achieve our work, personal, academic goals, etc., or simply help us find what motivates us.
Create an empty space
At the beginning of my training in Coaching, I knew this phrase and the meaning it has marked my life and that of those around me forever: “Create an empty space and the universe will fill you with things”, I can never forget it . But what exactly does it consist of?
This principle is based on the laws of physics: nature abhors a vacuum, always trying to expand and fill any possible space. If you spill water in a pond, it will spread to take up all the available space.
Starting from this concept, every time you want something new in your life, you must create the space to incorporate it. If you want to have a new relationship as a couple, you must first leave the one you have. You must generate physical and mental empty space to allow the new relationship that you long to have into your life. You cannot receive new things for which you have no space.
If you find yourself in a time of stagnation, start by creating space in your life. One of the simplest ways is starting with our closet, eliminate everything that you do not like or do not make you feel good. You can donate to a charity what you no longer need and with this you first create space and second help someone who needs more what you no longer use. Take the test, a feeling of happiness and fulfillment will invade you. At present it is very fashionable to make a “clear out” of your wardrobe, the “detox closet” etc … even if we give it different names or want to frame it in different ways, it all comes down to creating empty space in our lives.
Having your house tidy is also a very important point to consider, living in a chaotic and messy space robs you of all available energy. One day I went to visit a friend, she has a beautiful house but full of too many things. When we started catching up on our lives, she told me that she felt at a standstill, she would love to move to another country, but she couldn’t find the way to do it. So I proposed to her to organize and eliminate all the objects in her house that she really did not like, at first she was reluctant to the idea, but we started looking for photos on Instagram of decoration and she began to like the idea. The house was beautiful, you breathed peace, you no longer saw that feeling of things everywhere. A few weeks later my friend called me to tell me that she had found a company that could offer her a paid internship in London, she couldn’t be happier. Chance? It is such a simple way to improve your life that you do not lose anything by trying it, the energy associated with your possessions, once released, something new will appear.
“To create the life you want, start by eliminating what is left over.”
